President Obama stated that he wants to bring the soldiers back home from Iraq/Afghanistan as soon as possible.
There are divisive discussions: some say the soldiers want to stay and finish the job they started, others say that they should come back because they believe they are in Iraq for the wrong reasons.
There is too unnecessary much pain involved in these wars. There are many deaths already and many people being hurt physically and emotionally. Many families lost one or two members and just can't move on from the pain and suffering. Many children left orphans; many mothers crying at night wondering if their kids are safe or even alive!
Since the soldiers are the ones fighting these wars, should they have a say on this decision?
What do politicians really care about? Some people say that Bush could have cared less for the troops but on the other hand, Vice President Biden's son is stationed in Iraq.
I don't think it has to do with whether one is a politician or not. It all comes down to what kind of person an individual really is and what his/hers priorities are.
