The São Paulo Gay parade has become a tradition. It's probably the biggest LGBT parade ever and people from all over the world, including celebrities, come to take part in it.
Initially the gay parade was meant for homosexuals and supporters to express their freedom and show they are a part of the society.
But it seems like the LGBT community and the religious groups in Brazil are at war.
While the religious groups protested with signs against homosexuality, some members of the LGBT community showed their protests against homophobia using religious symbols and the image of Jesus Christ as part of the parade.
In other protests, activists use really graphic gestures to protests against homophobia from the religious groups and conservatives. Do you think they took the right route to protests in order to have rights to be themselves? From the pictured below, I don't think so!
Disrespectful to say the least!
The celebration should show the society that LGBT have their rights and are part of the society. However when they react with protests attacking the religious groups, it defeats the purpose.
A waste of resources and exposure indeed.
While the religious groups and the LGBT protesters insist on insulting and attacking each other, there will be no peace on either side.
